Eyes on the Prize for Staying Inside — Allie’s Chicago “Patio Vacation” Guide
I know it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, but next time we are back out side it will be time to start thinking about PATIO SEASON! I love dining outside in the summer and took several “patio vacations” (as I like to call them) last summer. Since I have nothing but time to compile lists for my lovely readers, I have listed all the patio vacations I took last summer.
Listed in ABC order…
Barcocina
The patio at Barcocina is super spacious, and they happen to have the best guacamole ever!
Barrio
I love the food at Barrio for both brunch and dinner! The patio is great for smaller groups.
Blue Door Kitchen & Garden
The patio at Blue Door Kitchen & Garden is my favorite. You literally don’t feel like you are in Chicago when you are sitting in this oasis!
Chicago Q
Nothing beats the comfort of BBQ food and the Chicago sunshine at Chicago q!
Luxbar
When you’re looking for an escape from the hype of Gold Coast, Luxbar is the place to go!
Pinstripes
That glow on my face is no lie. This patio at Pinstripes is truly a hidden gem. Perfect for enjoying brunch along the river without feeling like you are in the middle of downtown Chicago.
Pizzeria Portofino
This patio at Pizzeria Portofino is, understandably, all the rage. I mean what’s better than pizza? Pizza with THAT view.
River Roast
River Roast is another hot spot along the river. I have only been here for a media preview, but I can’t wait to return for a full dining experience.
Shore Club
Shore Club is right on North Avenue Beach. I haven’t tried the food there yet, but the flight of frozen drinks is amazing!
Tortoise Supper Club
Located right in the heart of River North, Tortoise Supper Club has a menu where I can honestly say that every dish I have tried has blown me away.
Tuco and Blondie
This patio gets great sunlight during the day and lights up beautifully at night. Throw in some delicious food and a margarita, and you’ve hit the trifecta!
